How to Find the Correct Type of
Bottle to Fit Your Waterer
Most 16 oz. 1 liter and 2 liter soda pop bottles will
fit our "Fountain" series automatic watering
pet dishes. However, you must use a bottle with
the correct thread design.
The Correct Thread Type
The correct bottle thread type is shown in Figure
A. The distance from the top of the bottle to the
flange where the bottle seats in the waterer can be from
5/8" to 3/4". The height of the
threaded portion of the neck is approximately 1/2".

IMPORTANT! Whatever bottle you
choose, make sure you remove the plastic ring that is
left on the bottle neck after you unscrew the cap!

If you are still having trouble
finding the correct type of bottle
We recommend buying a bottle of the "Clear
American" line of sodas and bottled waters.
This brand is available at all Wal-Mart stores.
See Figure C below.

Once you have purchased a bottle from
this line, you do not have to keep buying the same
brand. You can use this bottle as an example of
the type of thread that fits and by comparing it to your
favorite brands, you should be able to choose from many
different sodas and bottled waters that will work.
Listing of Brands That Will Fit
The major beverage companies (Coke, Pepsi, 7 UP etc.)
use independent bottlers throughout the U.S.A. to bottle
their products. Each independent bottler may or
may not use the same type of bottle. Therefore a
bottle of "Coke" say in Seattle may come in a
different bottle than a bottle of "Coke" in
New Orleans. This makes it impossible to recommend
a specific brand of soda that will work in your
automatic waterer throughout the country, it really depends on where you
live.

If Worst Comes to Worst
If you still can't find a bottle that will fit, call
us at 630-375-5999 and we can provide you an empty
2-liter bottle for free.
Please note that we can provide the bottle for free
but you must pay for shipping. Shipping will cost
more than buying a full bottle of soda so you are better
off trying to find a bottle locally first.
